Considerazione: mentre in Italia siamo ancora a ragionare sui siti internet tradizionali, in Australia si va già oltre coinvolgendo i consumatori, rendendoli partecipi, … Questa è la concorrenza. | Tatachilla Growers Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2006 | | | Anecdotally, Sauvignon Blanc, alone and in blends, seems to be the quaffer of choice for casual work lunches and similar occasions. It's not hard to see why; flavours are for the most part easily discerned and unchallenging. There are some quite lovely versions of the "classic dry white" blend. The Grosset springs immediately to mind, and the Marga... | | | |
| Perfect Summer White | | | OK, it?s 95 degrees outside and I needed something cool and refreshing. Cinnabar came to my rescue! You may recognize Cinnabar?s flagship wine, the red Bordeaux blend called Mercury Rising, but you may not have known that they have a white version named (very creatively I might add) Mercury Rising Blanc. 2006 Mercury Rising Blanc Cinnabar Vin... | | | |

| A Honey of a Second Label | | | All over the world, fancy winemakers blessed with more fruit than their limited production wines can use, or fruit that is almost but not quite up to their standards, are crafting wines under second labels. Here in the US, these second labels are often guarded as big secrets. I've had more than one person tell me who the real maker of a second labe... | | | |

| No Cheating Texas Style Tour de France | | | At our most recent soirée at the house on Travis, we celebrated the Tour de France, Dallas-style. Since we were actually in Paris last year for the finish of the race, we thought it only fitting. Fans of...uhhh...bicycle racing! Yeah, that's it! Unlike the participants in the famed bicycle race, no evidence of anabolic steroids, exogenous testo... | | | |
| Wines for week ending 07th July | | | Geoff Merrill Reserve McLaren Vale Shiraz 2002 Bloody good. Classic Mclaren Vale Shiraz with the meaty, ripe fullness that only McLaren Vale can do. A second bottle opened was tighter still, with firmer tannins & opens up after 30 or so minutes. If it was a degree or to lighter in alc (its 15.5%) this would get full marks. 18.5/20 Scarborough Yell... | | | |

| Wine Week 83: Something we?ve never done before | | | This week we suggest a wine of a variety we haven?t covered in the entire time that WineWeek has been pouring rapid tips for you all. The unloved grape is grenache, and we explain why we?ve avoided it until now. We also look at an aged semillon that is affordable and comes from somewhere you might not expect. Our final wine this week is a pinot no... | | | |

| Clairault Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2007 | | | Clairault can be said to be wear the stripes it?s earned during the harsh and formative years of Margaret River some 30 odd years ago. | Road Trip: Spokane | | | As our road trip took us to Spokane, Washington, we tried to visit a representative sampling of wineries in the Spokane area. Our first stop was at Latah Creek Winery. Latah Creek, owned by Mike Conway and his wife, has been in business 26 years and produces about 15,000 cases per year. Our friendly hostess, Ruth, poured six wines for us with no t... | | | |
